I strive to be a client-centered, culturally competent therapist who is committed and responsive to helping my clients work through the problems, emotions and struggles that bring them to therapy. Beliefs about how health and healing occur is unique to everyone. In my work, I use a combination of theoretical approaches, tailoring my therapy sessions to each unique individual and their presenting concerns. The most common approaches I draw from include: Solution-Focused Based Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) techniques, Attachment-Based Therapy (ABT), and Interest-Based Mediation.
I have had the honour of working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, parents, and families at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, Non-profit organizations, and Educational Institutions. This has provided me the opportunity to assist clients with anxiety, depression, harm reduction, stabilization, coping strategies, parenting strategies, healing from abuse and neglect, gender issues, intrusive thoughts, OCD, ADHD, autism, as well as other various mental health concerns.
It can be challenging to reach out for help when needed, especially when feeling discouraged or a sense of hopelessness. If you are looking for a compassionate, empathetic, non-judgmental person who will help and empower you to overcome the challenges you are faced with, please reach out. I look forward to meeting you!
