Meet The Author

I’m Alysha Dosanjh — a therapist, founder of Inspire Wellness Therapy, and children’s book author based in Calgary, Alberta.

My work is rooted in helping children, individuals, and families better understand their emotions, build self-trust, and feel a sense of safety within themselves. Through my clinical work, I’ve seen how powerful it can be when children are given simple, supportive language to make sense of the feelings they experience in their bodies.

Alongside my work as a therapist, I’m also a Usui Reiki Master and take a holistic approach to healing—one that honours the connection among mind, body, and emotional well-being.

Writing children’s books became a natural extension of this work. It allows me to bring emotional tools, awareness, and support beyond the therapy room and into everyday moments for children and families.

I’m also a devoted animal advocate and deeply value compassion, connection, and creating spaces — both in my work and in my writing — that feel safe, supportive, and meaningful.

Shop The Big Feelings Series

The Feelings in My Tummy is part of the Big Feelings Series—a collection of heart-centered stories designed to help children understand their emotions, listen to their bodies, and build confidence through life’s big and sometimes scary moments.

Each story in the series supports emotional awareness, self-trust, and resilience in a way that feels safe, relatable, and empowering for young children.

Kody feels a funny feeling in his tummy—but he’s not quite sure what it means.

With the help of his sister Abby and a new friend named Diego, Kody begins to understand that this feeling might be trying to tell him something important.

Through a gentle and magical journey, Kody learns that it’s okay to feel scared—and that with support, courage can grow one small step at a time.
